We have an incredibly exciting year to look forward to... We have the amazing chocolate factory visit, we will visit the theatre to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we will be learning all about chocolate and (don't tell Linda-May) we might even be eating chocolate in Topic lessons! And that is just the Autumn term...
We will be reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory and we will learn to write persuasive letters imagining we have invented a new chocolate bar that we want the factory to sell. We will use our imaginative powers like Mr Willy Wonka to create an invention and then write narrative based on it.
We will be studying all about chocolate including where the cacao tree grows, the climate it needs, how the process of making chocolate works all the way from the bean to the bar. We will be conducting blind taste tests and creating human graphs as well as digital graphs to represent our favourite chocolates. We will be drawing and designing our own chocolates and wrappers too!
We will be learning about the states of matter, solid, liquids and gases and then conducting investigations into how things melt and what materials act as the best insulators. Then we will be learning about electricity and we will create big signs that could go on the top of our shops with flashing colours and buzzers all to use in our grand showcase which will be happening sometime in November... Parents are all invited! (More info will be provided nearer the time)
These are just some of the amazing things we have to look forward to. As the term progresses, keep checking this page to see photos that we add of different activities...
