Secondary Admissions

Visiting Secondary Schools

We understand that families may wish to visit prospective secondary schools as part of the admissions process. However, absence from school for a secondary school visit cannot normally be authorised unless your child is attending a scheduled interview.

Where possible, families should arrange visits and open events outside of the school day, including during evenings and weekends.

11+ Examinations

We also understand that some families may wish for their child to sit an 11+ examination.

If your child needs to be absent from school to sit an 11+ examination, please submit a term-time leave request in advance. These absences can be authorised, but only for the date and time required for the examination. Children are expected to attend school as normal for the remainder of the school day wherever possible.
