In 2023, thanks to the work of the School Council and our ongoing commitment to making the school a greener, more sustainable place to work, we achieved an Eco School with Merit Green Flag Award, who recognised the many creative and innovative ways our school tackle huge global issues in a child-friendly way – showing true dedication to environmental education.
We are delighted that the school received the IQM Inclusive School Award in January 2023. In her report, the assessor stated that: “Children at BVPS thrive within an ethos of Inclusion, Creativity and Excellence, designed to equip children for life. In addition, children are provided with the resources to become successful learners in a supportive environment, one in which children learn to cooperate, regardless of differences, embracing the notion of ‘all different, all equal’. The positive school climate is hugely beneficial to children’s performance on many levels including attendance, assessment, wellbeing and behaviour. Children, in general, love being at school and are keen to arrive on time every day. I attribute this to the positive learning culture.”
Artsmark- Gold Award 2022
We are very proud to have received the Artsmark- achieving Gold, despite all the challenges brought by the pandemic. The award demonstrates that our whole school community values the importance of the Arts and embraces opportunities to engage with them.
PSQM Science Award 2021
We are delighted that Britannia Village achieved the GILT PSQM Award in recognition of the outstanding practices that have been carried out across the school in the teaching of Science. During the process of accreditation, teachers were faced with the challenge of maintaining high standards during the pandemic and delivering excellent lessons. They were able to achieve this by providing Science resources to children and capturing some excellent experiments conducted at home using Flipgrid. The ability to adapt and provide relevant topics such as A Better World and Mission to Mars illustrates why our school was awarded this high level of accreditation. We strive for a child led, relevant and well resourced curriculum in order to give our children the best possible learning experiences.
